Go Hyun-jung Breaks Silence on Death Rumors and Illness in Surprise New York Vlog Return

On May 21, the veteran actress Go Hyun Jung uploaded a new video to her official YouTube channel, marking her first appearance in six months. Filmed in New York City, the vlog documents her visit to a fashion brand event, offering fans a candid glimpse into her current life and health.
“I haven’t greeted you all in quite a while,” she greeted viewers warmly. “Now I get to say hi from New York.”

Go, who underwent surgery last December and had stepped away from public activities, revealed she had spent most of her trip resting due to illness. “I haven’t been able to vlog because I was sick and needed to rest,” she explained. “It’s been so long since I’ve had a proper meal.”
As the video progressed, she poked fun at herself while browsing a department store: “Window shopping is for when you’re young… Today was really great! It’s just…a realization of my aging, I didn’t think I’d get this tired so easily…”

However, the light-hearted tone took a turn when staff members mentioned online rumors about her death that had emerged during her absence. Visibly shocked, Go responded, “That’s a shock.”
She went on to apologize to fans for her hiatus: “I couldn’t work on the vlog for over four months. I was sick and couldn’t go anywhere.” Now on the mend, she assured fans of more regular updates: “Rather than something grand, I want to share my thoughts like a diary and interact with your comments. I’ll organize things and be back often.”

Go Hyun-jung had missed the press conference for her Genie TV drama Namib due to her health condition but is now set to return to the small screen in September with SBS’s upcoming series The Mantis: Original Sin.
